Good friend of mine. He's of Danish descent, but grew up in Taiwan. Just got married (check the ring on the middle finger - the ring finger in Asian culture).

The sandbar he's running on is no longer there thanks to a pair of big Typhoons a couple of weeks apart. A huge part of that local community depended on that beach for work directly and indirectly. Within a few months, a few hundred camping cabins will be home only to a few rats and spiders.

This is a heavy crop but is otherwise unedited. The rest of that picture is pretty fun, but is not relevant here. Actually, this crop was taken specifically for him as kind of a sports figure card. I was never really into those cards, so I'm not too sure it's a great idea, but the tight crop on this pic is specifically for focusing on him only.

This is one of my favorite pictures. He loves it too.

Good action capture. I like the slight blur on the feet, adds to the action feeling. I agree, the crop seems a little tight, but it helps that the subject is looking back into the image, where there is a little space, although the action does want to take you off the image, since he is so close to the edge. Color is pretty good, I like the nice warm tone of the photo. I don't know if you edited the shot much, but I might try to get a little bit more contrast, might add a touch of depth.

I like the action in the shot, but I agree that it would probably be improved with a little larger crop, depending on what you cropped out of the shot of course.

What really makes this a nice photo for me is the golden tones and light. It really has a nice warm, "beach" feel to it because of that golden light.

Nice action shot. Good focus and lighting, but I think the crop is a bit tight - he has nowhere to go. Again too, your subject is centered - you might try putting him in the right portion of the frame and giving him some room to run on the left. Nice natural tones and straight horizon under difficult conditions.
