Challenge: Beverages (Basic Editing III) Camera: Canon PowerShot A70 Location: Home kitchen Date: Sep 24, 2005 Aperture: f/8.0 ISO: 100 Shutter: 1/5s Date Uploaded: Sep 25, 2005

Shot at my kitchen with a white cardboard as background, used the kitchen fluorescent light and the camera's built in flash with a hand made aluminum deflector on it to make the flash bounce up instead of directly hitting the cup.
Also used a hand held aluminium deflector to make the flash bounce back down and to the side where some light was missing too.
You can guess this was a coordinating-hell, trying to make the tea bag look directly at the lens, have a tea drop hanging from it, shooting and using the handheld deflector to make the light flash bounce at just the right angles ..
Fun :)
Shot 70 pics, then erased half and shot another 30-40.
PS: NeatImage first, then using channel-mixer, and some hue/saturation tricks I learned reading here, I selectively, based on hue, brightened the background, without (almost) damaging the yellow cup,
Hope you like it (inspired by my addiction to morning tea). |

IF you catch that drop just before it goes I think it would better. Plus the mug itself is boring. Something with more color esp. against the white backround. |

Just a shade overexposed -- a little less would make it much easier to recognize the teabag. |

Nice concept .. I found this a little overexposed. Good work though. |

I like the idea of this one, but I would have liked to see more of the teabag, maybe just the edges? :) |

I wish the darkness of the tea was balanced by a darker color of the cup. |

I think this idea is great but maybe executed a little better it could have been a great shot. If the image weren't so white. The tea-bag is hardly visible...however, that may have been what you were going for...it looks like the tea is just suspended. The drip a great added spark. |

No Definition On The Tea Bag...Looks Like A Lump Of Dirt Falling Into The Cup |

Unpleasantly overexposed (to my taste)... |
