thanks for the replies.
Didn't expect much really as it isn't a very well taken photo, i submitted it regardless.
I was hoping for more footprints in the pic and to get the focus a bit further in but i don't know where they are.. maybe he flew up lol
Some comments really helpful, thanks! :) |

Good perspective, just wish the dog was in focus. |

Interesting picture. I like how the sand is in good focus at the bottom and changes as you go up. Nice touch. |

Your foreground could use a better focal point. |

I would like to see the dog more in focus. |

I don't mind the out of focus dog in the background, but I feel like something is missing in the foreground. I wish there was a trail of the dog's pawprints or something. |

Really like the title and the subject. More DOF would have made it more interesting I think. |

You might hear otherwise, but personally I like that the dog is oof for this one. |

can't have main subject so out of focus, would have worked had u put a bone up front.
Then the dog would have been on your camera I spose. LOL:) |

Love the focus in this one...it really adds to the "depth" of the image...very nice. |

I get your take on this...the dog doesn't want to come down the sand dune again. It's a fun idea and put together ok. Couple of things that work against this photo is the first impression - the first thing I noticed as it was loading was a fuzzy OOF dog. That's because I had to scroll down to see the bottom third of the image. After seeing the whole pic I understand...I'm just saying what popped into my mind at first. I think something that could have helped sell this is some dog tracks in the sand, especially in the vicinity where the focus is sharp (bottom third of image). As it is, the strongest part of this image (the sand) doesn't hold the viewers interest for long. Creative ideas like this will work for you in the future...maybe it will this time and I'm just being too picky. ;^) Good luck in the challenge. |

What is the point of the non focus? |

The dog needs to be in focus. |
