...Remember...Honor...Celebrate...

Same lighting technique used as in my "Family" entry...except I have now added a spiffy new 5 in 1 reflector...{{{see Rachel doing her mad dance around her still life with light in one hand and reflector in other hand.}}}It's no wonder I feel so worn out after these crazy little still life sessions.

Very basic editing: A bit of rotation, auto levels, resize, USM, border and save for web...oh, and there was a teeny dirt mark on the wall I cloned out...I try ernestly to make my lighting do the work, and not Photoshop.

I hope no one gives out crap points for the title being in Spanish..."Dia de los Muertos" sounds much better than "Day of the Dead"...and for those who may not think there are "greeting cards" for this holiday...you are grossly mistaken.

There is this thing called the "internet" where you can look things up...like, for instance....language...

I thought a lot of people might not understand this....this is for the holy day of Nov 1st right?

I gave it an 8...I really liked it....The lighting wasn't perfect...but I loved the originality and thought that was put into this.

I would love to see it in a sepia or duo/quod tone too....just see how it turns out.

Perhaps there is some cultural reference of which I'm not aware, but the smiling skeleton seems out of place to the overall composition. In addition, lighting needs improvement to avoid shadows on the wall.

I really like this picture. Love the cross, flowers and candles. Reminds me of home. The cracked up skull really accentuates the title.

This really does look like a greeting card set up. I'm glad you chose a different category as well. It is a bit busy, but considering the subject matter, it works. Nice composition and clarity.

This is lovely. My son lived in Central America with a family and I know they would enjoy this!

"Day of the Dead" ... Is that the equivalent of Halloween in the States? I like this picture. I'm not sure what everything represents, however the lighting and the composition are right on.

I'm not much up on the holiday, but quite a collection. The focus starts behind the front row of flowers, otherwise depth of field looks ok.
