I love the purple sky! It makes it magical and mystical, which is how castles should be, especially to little girls :) |

such a great placing..and you supposed to be new ? It took me 10 submissions to break 5. I like your composition here and it really fits the theme. I love old architecture..this is a favorite of mine. |

Wow! I was not expecting this to finish so high! I'm super happy about it's rating! Thanks very, very much to all of those who commented! It's wonderful to hear the different opinions and receive the feedback in any form!
Purple sky - UGH! Yes, the sky was meant to be purple. Not sure if I regret that now or not. I had sooo many different sky versions with this image and ultimately decided on purple because: 1) My little girl loved the purple sky version the most and since I had her input on the title I felt I'd let her help with the color variation also - especially since I was becoming so indecisive about it. 2) The images that I had played with and the different color variations all had a lot of noise in the sky - especially around the pillars themselves, it seemed to me that I had done something (have no idea what) but there seemed to be the least amount of noise in the purple version. 3) And this is strange I know - but I associate the color purple with royalty or regalness, kings & queens etc. - which live in a "castle".
Thanks again for all the comments - I want to learn as much as I can and all comments (good and bad) are very welcome so I can get an idea of what people really think. Peace - Shan :)

I really like the old IR type shots (he says hoping he's not just got it wrong and made a fool of himself) and the processing to give an unusual sky colour works well. Good luck |

it's a shame that the sunlight washes out the texture and colour on the touret. |

I like the perspective and it certainly suits the challenge. Not crazy about the purple sky. I'd rather it be gray and not a single saturation of color. OR I'd like to see the whole thing in color with a beautiful blue sky Nice angle to the shot. Good detail considering the distance from the stone blocks of the building. |

Don't care for the purple sky. This would have been a good candidate for B&W. |
