 Taken at home in studio. Ambient and low lighting (old desk lamp). Poured coffee beans into first cup and then used spoon to fake into the other.

Slight tickle with the brightness and contrast seemed to finish the job.

I'm not a coffee drinker, but would you ever see mugs full of beans? It feels a little contrived to me.

Nicely lit, the shadows give this shot a lot more interest and the blown highlights aren´t really noticable. Gave this a 7.

Wow! Gorgeous shot! I love the high contrast of the cups and the black background, I love the shiny spoon, I even love the little halo on the spoon. My only gripe is that the shadow on he left side of the cup in the foreground is a little too dark... just a smidge of fill light, even from something like a desk lamp (or a smidge less light on the rest of the shot and a slightly longer exposure) would give a LITTLE detail in those coffee beans on the left. Also, the details of the coffee beans, especially the ones on the table, seem to be suffering from JPEG compression or some other digital noise. Neat Image would have rescued that, I think.
But those two little gripes don't detract too much from this otherwise stunning photo. Great job, and should place in the top 20.

Love this shot, very creative composition. The lighting works really well highlighting the beans to the side and leaving the ones in the back of the cup to almost look like liquid. There is a lot of really uninteresting photos in this challenge but this definetly is one of the best. Well done, I am envious

nice color tones, interesting composition. iperhaps it was intentional, but the whites feel a bit overexposed (particularly the center cup by the handle and right side)...and it doesn't go away with monitor adjustments.

I like this a lot, but I think it would have been a bit less cluttered if you had done away with the cup on the left. Really nice though!
