Awww, what a cutie!
I know how hard it is to get birds in the first place and getting them in focus is even more difficult. This little guy could stand to be a bit sharper. However, you did get the catchlight in his eye, and that's very,very good.
I think someone commented on the center composition here. You might try different crops of this image. Perhaps cropping the right side of the frame almost to the bird, and then the top about 1/2 way from the present framing to the bird's head. That might give the Kookaburra a better perch from which to be seen. But try various crops to see how each one would affect the composition.
You have a very good start here, and I expect you had fun getting this image. I'll look forward to seeing more of your work here at DPC. |

Very cute. Would have loved the focus to have been on hos head rather then the line, but all the same good captire. 7 |

Oh man, now that song will be in my head the rest of the day! Kookaburra sits in a the old gum tree...
Nice subject. It's a little static the way it's dead center like that though. |
