I like the concept, but the sugar seems really blown out and even the sugar bowl is overexposed a bit. I think a more neutral lighting of the sugar would have helped. |

An 'A' for effort! Had to have taken some time to put that together. Fun concept with the photo. I think your composition is fine (perhaps a bit tight), but I think you may run into some issues with the exposure as the sugar dish is a bit hot. Overall, a good job. Good luck in the challenge. |

The milk should have been in another cup. Otherwie not bad idea. Next time try not to use flash. |

If the white wasn't quite so bright (donning my sunglasses) :-) I would have scored this higher. I like your idea alot though. Shows creativity. |

While the white background is okay, the sugar has crossed the line between high-key and overexposed. In general I think if you have to include text to make your image work, you should probably reconsider your approach to the subject. This might have been more interesting if it was more minimalistic; a B&W shot of a single coffee bean half-buried in the sugar, for instance. |

sugar is too over exposed - i suppose that the nature of the beast , also your "n" from "and" looks like a "m".

Interesting, but photo is way too bright/over-exposed. |

Perhaps a little blown in the bottom right, but still one of the more interesting photos of this challenge. I think this one will definately do well. Good luck! |

I wish the sugar, since it is a subject, was not completely blown out. 6 |

like the idea with the writing in coffee grounds, and the sugar bowl.
really bright white, feels overexposed or overly-brightened. The extreme whiteness and glare off of the sugar bowl detracts from the photo. i would be interested in seeing how this image would look converted to a b&w with all the contrast, or how it would look with softer lighting. |

Looks like you should have used another, dimmer, light source than your flash. |

This is clever and quite graphic. The touch of copper in the plate helps to ground the shot. Interesting and imaginative. 8 |
