The light on the wall inside is kind of intriguing. |

just havin a browse thru your portfolio, coz you've made a couple of comments on my entries etc. and i came across this photo ... i thought it was very dramatic and it really caught my eye ... i love the contrast between the blue window frame and the brown/red wall and the light inside ... thought i'd check out how it went in the challenge and i was a bit taken aback when i saw that it came 123 out of 153 ... if i'd been voting i'd have given it an 8 or a 9 ... altho maybe you got marked down because its not obviously a coffee shop? even tho the title says 'the back room' .. |

While it may techincally meet the challenge it doesn't communicate "coffee shop" to me the way some of the other entried did. |

I would have given this a higher score if it was in the complementary colours challenge. |

Perspective is skewed, I presume to avoid flash reflection in the window? The crooked lines are distracting, and there isn't much inside the window with visual appeal. You've done a good job showing the warmth inside the building. |

I think that that thing in the left side of the bottom right pane might be a coffee pot, but even if it is the relation of this image to the challenge topic is quite a stretch. |

Well, if I squint inside I do see the coffee pots, but it's the blue frame and brown building that capture my focus. Compared with other entries in this challenge, it doesn't hold my interest as much. 4 |

Interesting shot and I like the contrasting colors with just a "hint" of the coffee shop in the back. The shadow lines of the siding have such a pronounced role that I would like to have seen them in a purely horizontal position. |

Nice contrast of colors in this shot... it seems the connection to the challenge is a bit subtle. |

This really doesn't say coffee shop to me and the slight tilt is distracting. |

Its a bit distracting that the horizontal lines are not straight. Nice color contrasts. |

pretty picture of a window. i would be interested in seeing a clearer image of the interior through the window, so that the coffee pot pops out more. |

I like this, but it looks like somebody's house and not the back room of a coffee shop. I'd like to see the window to the far left or right with more shutter or clapboard on one side. |

Image is tilted a tad to the left. Still nice contrast going on in the shot. |

nice colors... i would have taken the things in the left of the window away, they are distracting, and the picture is tilted |
