There are some serious problem areas with this photo. First is the back lighting that over powers various elements in the shot, and throws extremely strong distracting shadows into the foreground. Second is the infinity focus - a shallower depth of field would have helped the background be much less distracting. Your shot probably suffered score-wise because people did not feel that it met the challenge subject.
On the plus side, this is a very whimsical shot - I love the bathtub with the toy ships, and the shower head spraying water. This is a great scene, and well worth capturing. You probably had very little choice in time of day or lighting.
Regardless of the technicals on this, it does one great thing. It makes me smile.

The main interest in this photo comes more from the design of the cartoon Cat in the Hat, and not so much from the way the photo is set up. If the Cat is the important thing, then crop more closely around the figure to accentuate it.

Good Job.

Statues and figurines did not meet the challenge in my opinion. What is he trying to personify?

I don't understand how this meets the challenge or what it personifies.

see no personification at all, see cat in the hat
