Fall--cool weather, football games, leaves changing colors, a new school year--a time of new beginnings and renewed energy. It arrived this week in Missouri, so for me it is a reason to celebrate.

I like the composition and idea. For me, I wish there was some other red or orange (say a leaf or two) to add color balance for the apple, but nicely done. I like the depth of field.

Really good still life, I like it a lot. Not sure its that strong in relation to celebration, it needs to say celebration without the title helping.

I don;t know why, but this one doesn't do it for me. I do like the colors, but something's missing, I can't really figure out what that is..

I think you already know that the front wallnut is out of focus, and that this type of image needs to be pin sharp all the way through. Shame because its nicely constructed.

Look at the size of those nuts! ;)

and thank goodness, too! : )
i wonder how this image would have looked with more diffused lighting to bring out the shadows and tones in the pic. i also wonder how it would look with a richer colored background. the nuts blend in with the basket, and that blends in to the background color. it does make your apple pop out, though! nice composition.

The nuts and apple are well focused, but I think the title makes me yearn for leaves. I'd love this in an outdoor setting.

ah nuts!! You took my idea!! J/K Nice picture, really. The red apple adds a nice color, but the nuts tend to blend in with the basket.
