looks to grey for a celebration to me

Good record of an natural phenomenon. Difficult to give it any artistic or technical merit though. Maybe I can force myself to see a nice sweep of wire from the top left, but apart from that I really am struggling to find much worth saying about this image. Sorry that sounds hard, but to be honest this is my current vote for brown ribbon.

This image does not bring out the wow in me and is a average image that does not really belong as a challenge entry. Perhaps it is because it is dark. A closer image of perhaps only 2-3 birds where you can see some detail. I have taken photo's like this before, yet they were to just remember a moment in time. I have learned that they do not score well in a challenge. Nice try.

It´s a sin that the picture his fuzzy, like taken out of a window with bad glass or just a ceap camera most likely, because the frame is nice. I love birds my self and pictures like this one, but the quality is missing. 4

this image makes me want to park my car in a garage! ; )
lots of grey tones, lots of tiny bird images. in my eye, the image loses its power because it is so wide a shot. perhaps a tighter shot of one of those wires with the birds would make me really focus in and want to know what those birds are meeting about...

Looks more like the Hitchcook movie "The Birds". ;)

a bunch of birds on a wire is just not appealing.

this image is unfortunately very snapshottish. I'm not quite certain about the processing either. Was there any? This is an advanced challenge so you can edit and adjust levels and all that jazz.

So flat and really not very interesting in B&W. Makes me think of Hitchcock's THE BIRDS but there just isn't any depth to this shot.

While I've always liked seeing wires filled with birds, for me, I just don't get a sense of celebration from this photo. Also, I might have cropped out the pole on the left edge completely. I wonder how this looks in color? I think seeing this particular subject matter in black and white gives it a more...darker or gloomy kind of feeling rather than celebration. IMO.

While an interesting scene, I think the composition could be improved (crop out the pole on the left and the bottom of the scene to focus only on the birds on the wires). Regardless, I don't think this really fits the celebration focus of the challenge - this has more of an ominous tone with the dark shades and silhouettes.

Cute idea, could use a little more contrast and I would have tried to avoid the buildings in the background.
