Initial thoughts
Really like the concept – very subtle and thought-provoking.
Composition/ Content
The concept itself is a clever one – and I particularly like how the image itself doesn’t tell us whether you are saying that change is good, bad, inevitable or perhaps none of the above. All it shows us is that many changes have happened in our life times, some major and some minor.
In terms of the image itself, I like the angle of the viewpoint as well as the diagonal of the ipaq within the frame. It̢۪s nice that the diagonal is set against the (almost) horizontal and vertical lines of the reflected calendar.
In my opinion the reflection could be a little brighter, though really not much, because the fact it̢۪s less clear than the ipaq supports the idea that it̢۪s a ghost from the past.
Lighting on the ipaq seems uneven with a lot more around the navigation buttons than elsewhere.
Background
Clean, rich, appropriate.
Fits The Challenge
Definitely.
My Opinion On The Photo
I like the concept and the thoughts this image provokes better than I like the image visually. |

Fantastic idea! Pity the reflection couldn't have been more prominent, but I think it works really well. I gave it 8. |

Really liking this shot. Nice diagonal composition and cropping - almost a tad too close on the right, but it's good. I like the lighting, with the PDA coming into focus and the calendar going out. |

At first glance it's just a pocket PC, but upon further inspection I see your social commentary! Good work! 9 -danny |

love the reflection of the wall calendar in the PDA. Subtle but effective, as is your lighting. Very well done. |

Changes is good but is this art?
Matt:
If you feel it is art then what I think doesn't matter. |

I like the clarity of the image, the perspective and the tone. What I don't like is the reflection, even though I guess it could be considered office related, being a calendar and all. I guess an image on the PDA screen from that angle was not an option was it? That would have been better if achievable. After a second look I have to bump this up to a 6 ( 7 was my highest this challenge) |

I like that this conveys a message and I hope people don't miss out and score lower than it deserves because they miss the clever subtlety. A less centered composition would have gotten a higher score from me, but it's still so clever that it's an 8. Nice work. |
