Greetings from the Critique Club
First off, let me say that I like the general concept of this shot, but I feel there are certainly some things that could be do differently to make this a stronger shot.
I think the warm tone of the lighting is great and works well to set the mood. The exposure seems to be accurate the lighting is generally well done and the model fits with the overall tone of the shot.
The most noticable thing that strikes me as unappealing, and you received several comments about this during the challenge, is the up-the-nose angle of the shot. shooting from eye level or slightly higher would really help here.
Of less concern to me, but still important is a lack of contrast. The image just doesn't "pop" and it really should. It doesn't need much, but to me, it's really noticable.
The only other thing, and this is really not a major concern, is that the wine looks black. If there were some way to light it a bit from behind, give it a reddish glow, it would add quite a bit to the image.
As far as the challenge goes, this certainly fits and wine can be a celebration in itself.
Keep up the good work! |

Very good concept and model...but I don't think she would like me looking up her nose! |

Nice image, the light is lovely and the look on her face is spot on. I am drwn into the image, it makes me think about it. It's a little too centred and the glass looks dirty. |

I like the idea and the model, but there's something about the wine glass. Maybe it's the way it's tipped..looks to me as if it's about to go right up her nose. Sorry, I'm not great with the technical jargon, but again, I like your concept of celebration. |

the "up the nostrils" look is never very flattening. |

i would like to have seen this shot taken from a down angle of her looking up. in this image, her nostril becomes a prominent feature. |

nostril is the focal point of the image, and her nose is growing an eyebrow
to fix - either shoot down or from the side
good lighting though ... |

I like the warm tones seen here and especially how it baths the model in a warm tones. I like how she is posed with her eyes looking up as she tips the glass of wine towards her lips in expectation. The viewer wonders just what is off screen that she maybe looking at. The only really big nit is that the wine in the glass appears to dark. It would have strengthened the overall appeal of the image if you could have brought out the rich deep tones of the red wine. Showing that deep, rich color of the red would help the viewer partake in the enjoyment of "drinking" in this image. |

Lovely velvet skin. Maybe a tad yellow, but I like the expression and her hair. |
