This idea popped up in desperation about 5 hours before the entry was due. The hardest part was getting the banana to stay vertical of course. A nail and a thumbtack under a poster did the trick. Bananas are photogenic ... and typically thought of as sexual so I'm giving myself an extra .5 for not going sexy with this. I accidentally left my camera on a high iso so hopefully noise isn't visible .. there's some .... Edits: Used camera RAW which allows for slight overall exposure mod when opening in Pshop, then usm, reduce noise, overall selective color adj layer to get rid of some cast to the background, crop, save for web.

Bananas seem to be popular for this challenge... I like the high key treatment here.

8 - Well done. Criticism; perhaps the lighting, but difficult, as it seems to me you are going for a somewhat 'high key' effect, but the 'face' (at least I see a 'tiny' one, not just the 'overshadowing posture', which is perhaps all you were going for, if so apologies) in the 'living banana' - somehow - I would like to see 'enhanced' more, difficult, especially retaining the shadow, 'perspective' and said 'high key' effect.

Simple but right on theme for this challenge. I love the details, the shadow and the composition of the scene. Gave it a perfect 10. Well done.

Nice creativity. It seems like bananas and desk lamps have the most personality among inanimate objects. The picture has some technical problems which keep it from a higher score (gave it an 8). The dead banana is OOF which I think detracts as it is such a major subject. It also has blown highlights. Otherwise, well done.

The idea is there but I have a hard time sensing the grief in the bent banana.
