Personification was an interesting challenge idea, as it was something i never though of doing directly. Took me about 2hours (10 minutes here, 10 minutes there...) to find an idea i felt confortable with. My criterias were to have fun, and to make a funny picture.

Kidnapped the teddy from my neighbours young daughter (middle) who has an impressive Teddybear collection, 'bought' a flower pot from my very kind and devoted girlfriend and broke it with a hammer under a sheet, and gently handled the flower from another pot. Used some new flowerpot earth to create the effect of a small spread, used a paint brush (big one) to clean all the mess on the white.

The tricky part was to have the teddy stand up. At first, it was sitting but it wasn't very interesting to see, so i used a brick (House), wraped in white paper, with a long plastic straw taped onto it to make the Teddy stand (its legs actually hold the whole 'body' up as well) and sew the hands to the face gently. Shot with a single 30x60 SoftBox source at 800watt power (F/11, 1/125 on Iso100).

Adjustments are the classics: Level, Curve, HUE and USM. Final perfect squary crop and a small inviting frame. I checked to see which colour match would be more interesting, and settled for Green as its not as intrusive and more interesting then black.

This time... no DQ from overdoing adjustments... i'm good :D I'm hoping for a top20 on this one.

Personally I still think this is a "9" and deserved a much better finish compared to some of the images I see in the top 20. You were robbed!! Don't get discouraged, eventually people will actually notice your excellent talents and start giving you the votes you so well deserve.

It's hard for me to decide if a stuffed animal is a good subject for an inanimate object. At first I had decided no and had this as a 2, but I think in the end, it does qualify. The composition and lighting are very nice. I'm going to bump this to a 6.

Clever. It's maybe just a little too centred.

Outstanding. Cute. Well taken. Could have been for the greeting card challenge: 'sorry'. I hope he had to clean up afterwards.

Technically flawless! Composition a bit too9 static, could use more shift off center,
a different choice of backdrop would also bring all elements of the picture together.
