I took this photo in the daylight, the night look comes from photoshop. I messed with hue/sat, selective color, color balance and shadow/highlight to achieve the color effect. I hope it is pretty convincing :-)

Wow the depth of this shot is excellent. I think like many commentators you were robbed. People did not truly look at the image but just glanced and want to see something general and basic, like a yellow flower with a smile added to make a face on it. I love how looming you made the sky. I have to say your work is just amazing, this is defiantly another quality piece that fits wonderfully into your collection. My favorite part is the depth of the tree branches and how twisted and how consuming they are. I really can't think of anything I would change (I know I am still pretty new at this, but I don't think many people would change much or anything) Excellent capture of personification.

Too subtle for the audience. Good effort.

Joey: You were definitely robbed on this one! Can't believe voters messed up this bad. This is definitely a top three finish.

Ah, you just have to throw your hands up sometimes. I like your shot MUCH more than mine. Maybe you should've had Mr. Dickeboom visit.

Shoulda placed higher. The challenge description said: Take a photo of something non-human-looking but yet still shows human characteristics or evokes a human feeling.
I think you did a very good job of evoking the feeling of a sleepless night...good job. :)
okay, I'm done ranting now. :)

I had one of these nights last evening. Interesting, albeit dramatic and disturbing. 9

Cool picture, but I don't see the human look to it, maybe I just missed the meaning, but still a neat picture. Sky is cool

I cannot make a personification, either physical or emotional, out of this image. Nice photo of textures in dull light, but it doesn't communicate a personal feeling to me. Sorry.

Beautiful dark feel. Really gets the imagination working. I think it could have been just a bit sharper without destroying the effect you wanted. Excellent work!! "9"

An eerie scene. Am I missing something?

It's perfect. I love it. Even without more contrast and bluer tones. :)
