Shot on a field trip to the 'pumpkin patch'. Saw the tree in the pond and added my son as a foreground element. TOO slow a shutter speed, should have a poleraizer filter...but I still like what it.

Editing...
shot RAW, so convert.
USM to dehaze, fade 30%
Channel mixer to emulate Velvia a bit
Color balance, to try and enhance the blues and tone down teh greens a tad
curves to enhance contrast
resize, flatten
NI to reduce some of the noise in teh blue areas
USM as a final sharpening

like the lone tree. i wonder how this would have looked with the boy placed more in the lower left corner instead of in line with the tree?

The child is a bit of a distraction for me. Takes away from the reflection. Great photo though.

I hope I don't come across mean, but I would have cropped above the white object (right below the water's edge) and left out the child. I understand that you probably meant to imply that he too is reflecting, but I think the tree, its reflection, and open sky would have made a stunning photo on its own.

Very nice shot! I think it would be even better if the photo was really crisp throughout (not sure in this case if in needs an increased depth of field or use of a tripod). There's just something ever so slightly fuzzy about the photo.

Other than that, perhaps finding a way to better integrate the little boy's "reflections" on the flower in the rest of the photo - perhaps by getting him to be a little larger in the frame. Not quite sure if this would work - just a suggestion.

THANKS for a reflection that is part of the image, not the entire image! This rocks! (Obviously could have been intered in the wide angle contest as well - and done well there as well!

I like the inclusion of a second subject, though I think I would have changed the perspective. Something lower to the ground to indicate a theme like "child looking out on the vast world"

The boy adds sooo much to this picture...sets it apart from others.

I like the "V" effect of the pond. You could have played that up a little more by panning to the right about 5 more degrees. I also like that your two subjects are aligned in the frame. That white ruler or piece of paper takes away from the overall composition. It is small details like that which separate winning photgraphs from the others. 7

Very nice, seems slightly out of focus.

To me this would be stonger without the child in it. I want the tree and it's reflection to be the subject. The kid keeps pulling my eye away from there.
