I wasn't fooled, for long, but outside of the creative setup, the shot didn't do anything for me.
But I do admit that the concept certainly jumped up your score from me. |

Man!! I was bashed by voters getting my worst vote ever!... well, I fooled hundreds of voters... and I got punished for fooling them, I hope YOU were not fooled. |

I was surprised how many thought you used a mirror. Guess that shows how well you set it up. Wish it had done better for you. |

it's hard to tell if this was taken in a mirror, or if you and your father are staging the shot. i think you and your father are staging the shot (hand positions on the razor), and it's cool! great idea! |

Fun picture, I'm eager to see what you used instead of a mirror. (twins have an obvious advantage here.) I particularly like the texture and variance in the tiles. |

Refelections WITHOUT Mirrors |

I'm guessing that this is two different people, a younger man and an older man. Hopefully, most people are looking past the fact that you have a frame and it's not really a mirror. To have the younger man more clearly in the photo, to emphasize that it's not a true mirror, may have worked a little better. As it is, I really like it. Good luck. |

I kept coming back to this because I knew I was missing something. Then I see the that the hands are not matching! HA! Bumping up a point from previous voting now that I get it. I wonder how you will do, its one of those shots you have to spend some time looking at.... with 350 plus entries people may not spend the time. Hoping that is not the case. The only thing I would add critique wise would be to have more of the bodies showing for composition reasons... |

7 - Mainly for the concept and effort. Criticism; sharper focus on 'one or the other'. In this kind of 'illusion', I think extreme attention to detail is required, from finger positioning to 'foam placement', etc. The tiled background seems to give a slightly 'uneven' appearance to the 'mirrored reflection', therefore in my opinion, may be detracting from the potential here. Angle also needs fine tuning, but a good effort overall, I just think that with further 'time' and detail, this could have been even better. Lastly, I think given the 'concept' and title, somehow 'revealing' the 'face of the son' a fraction more, is required, as at a quick glance, it is not easily discernible as a 'son/father'. edit:typo & sorry to see so many 1's. edit2:in retrospect, this really didn't 'meet the Challenge' (not a reflective surface), I guess your 'illusion' impressed me enough I 'forgot' that aspect of the Challenge (yet another reason I'd like to see the description on each voting page), had I not, would have been a 2/3/4, again for your efforts. Like to see this in the next 'illusions' type Challenge. Perhaps those 1's were 'not reflective surface DMC's' and not just 'this is a mirror DMC's'.

Neat trick, but not really a reflection in the surface sense, but unique in the artistic scene. |

Great idea on this one. Wish the dad had been a little more in focus but it's still one of the top shots that stands out. Good luck. |

Great job here with this... yet it missed the theme by using a mirror. |

This is a wonderful concept, yet the the tiles reflected in the mirror are in better focus than father. I'd like to have seen some more lighting on father. |

I really studied this to see if indeed it was a mirror. LOL The young guy on the left should have his cheek puffed out, no? Great imaginative take. Very well done. |

Dude, you're gonna be in big trouble with the voters. I had to stare and stare at this one to convince myself it is NOT a mirror, but a frame, and that there are two separate figures here. I think most voters are gonna assume this is a mirror and vote you down for DNMC. Good luck with this; I lik eit a lot. |

Well done! I hope people recognise what you've done here, it's a great play on the idea of reflection - and it really looks like one (perhaps too much!) :) Nice work. |
