Well, this is as wide as you'll get on a 1.6 factor camera with a 17mm lens. I just don't live where there are any expansive views. To top it all off, the HSM motor on my lens died so its manual all the way now. :)

Somethings winky with the sky - yes I know. But the original has the same weird colors. My lens? The sky today? who knows...

Has the makings of a great photo, but it's a bit too dark (I'm sure you're hearing this over and over) and your colors are way oversaturated. It loses a lot in the detail. However, I can see that your composition is great. Good luck!

I like the post-processing you did on the foreground (and I'm not usually a big fan of that). I wonder if in doing so though, you have lost some of the needed detail in the tree lines? For me, I would have scored it higher had there been more definition because the sky is such a pale blue and lots of sunlight.

i think that you overdid the processing just a little. the sky looks washed out, the trees are too dark and the water looks too blue, the softness makes me want to clean my glasses. I think that the composition is good, I bet I would really like the original .

I like the effect of this shot, is it a filter? Just a little too dark, shows no in the trees. Nice colors

I don't know enough to know exactly what is wrong with this picture. I took someimages towards sunset of a waterfall and the same thing happened to mine, blown out sky and too dark in the forground. Maybe we can get some pointers by the time this challenge is over. Oh and I never used my waterfall images.

This looks like an Edward Hopper painting. The tree detail is lost in the darkness but I believe that may just be my monitor. Interesting photo.

I would like this better if it were more in focus and if the trees were less dark.

I love the glow filter, but I don't think it is utilized to its fullest here. I think it would work better if you had more colorin the trees. The lake water is pretty. The shadow to the left is interesting. Overall though, it's just too dark. Keep trying though. ;~)

I'm sure you've read that extensive use of filters may not be well accepted by the voters. I'm sorry to vote your image down, but I'm not a big fan of all of the different filters for a photo contest. The overall contrast is at an extreme high, so the shadows have lost all detail. I would like to see one with more detail in the trees around the lake.

It seems hard for me to make out the detail of this photo. The trees is the background seem almost black on my screen. I am interested to see how it was produced.
