I wasn't planning on entering anything in this challenge, but as I was reviewing shots I took at the zoo I thought that it would at least be interesting to get some DPC feedback on this. I'm trying to stop playing it safe with my challenge entries (which wasn't producing high marks anyway); we'll see how this one fairs.

I had to save this at 90% quality in order to meet the file size restriction. Because of this compression the reflections of the sun in the concave triangles of glass got a lot grainer than I would have liked. The dark area in the top right corner of the image is due to the opaque cap at the top of the dome. I'd rather not have that area of dead space in the image, but I didn't want to crop out the triangles below it, and when I rotated the image to push it off the screen the pattern of lines became considerably less interesting. I also played around with various blur effects, but all of the interesting renditions came too close to the "digital art" line.

Taken at the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo's Desert Dome at around 18:00. Shot at 24mm (which is the widest angle that any of my lenses is capable of).

Very cool structure. I like light reflections. For me, I would have cropped out that element in the upper right as I find it a bit distracting. The tree adds interest for me and without it, I think it would have been nice, but boring. Good eye.

Awesome photo. The best thing about it is that it's somewhat difficult to tell if you're inside or outside, when you really look at it...

Cool. I like the tree "growing" out of it. Beautiful blue tones. The grid makes for interesting eye candy.
