Challenge: What? (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Lens: Tamron SP AF 17-35mm f/2.8-4 Di LD Aspherical IF for Canon
Location: Museum of Jewish Life, Berlin
Date: Oct 17, 2005
Date Uploaded: Oct 17, 2005

Berlin, as I noted on my wide-angle challenge entry, seems to be full of monuments one way or another. This is actually an installation in the 'Void of Memory' (I think) in Daniel Liebeskind's museum. If any of you get to go to this marvellous town, I cannot recommend highly enough that you ignore the over-commercialised west and head to the former East Berlin for the real life of the city.

not sure i'd call the first two places a 'joke', but I certainly do like the mood of this image a little better. In terms of pure photography this is as good as they come. I'd add you to my favourite fotog list again, but you're already on it ;)

I love the leading lines and the contrast. Perhaps looking a little oversharpened around the upper half of the figure in the foreground, but I find that that adds to the bleakness. Great shot, as usual.

challenge winner for me

the first two places are just a joke of voting, nothing `what` about them.

I need to explore your style of shooting more. It really suits the areas in NYC that I could photograph but haven't been able to find the right visual...vibe(?), to convey.

Dirty Urban sense to it. Great lighting. The leading line really works and I like that there are figures placed in different areas, to guide the eye along. Perfect use of black and white.
