This is another great shot - very moody - once again you seem to have an eye for making the most out of the available natural light.

Greetings from the Critique Club

Very nice work on meeting the challenge definately grainy. I realize you had one comment about not being grainy but rather textures and one look at the window frame and you see grain. Grain doesn't show up in black areas very often so don't let that one commet get to you.

I think the shadows on the steps are added mystery and interest to the shot. However what really distracts from the entire photo is the shadow of some post that is no where to be seen in the photo.

Overall its a very nice take on the challenge. I'll look forward to seeing more.

one of my favorites this challenge -- composition and color make this one a standout

Sizzling composition! I love it all; the shadows (both sharp and soft), the textures, and the terrific processing vision and execution. It's as good a job of creating this kind of spare, jagged urban detail as I've seen at DPC. 9

brickwork, rust & grain, a terrific combo, the light is great too

I haven't figured out yet what it is, but something about this image intrigues me. I think it must be the red. I think the composition is wonderful. I might clone out the shadow at the bottom right, but I might also leave it in. Naah, I'd take it out. 9 - good luck in the challenge!

The shadows and darks pop out even more because of the grain, it draws you in and makes the entire composition seem more stark and barren.

I see a picture of a textured surface, but not image grain as evidenced in the window - no grain.

This has a shady deal going on in the backroom sense. I love the shadow on the stairs. The shadow on the lit part of the front of the staircase could almost bee a person hee hee Kind of spooky. I like it.
