Challenge: Reflections Without Mirrors II (Basic Editing III)

Took this shot at Ocean Beach in San Francisco. I'm not even sure what type of birds these are, but I had a great time photographing them. The wet sand with a thin layer of water made for a perfect refecting surface. Not only did I get some nice reflections on the birds, but also the beautiful blue of the sky. I hope some people enjoy this shot.

The light falls on the central birds face just right here. I stared at this photo for quite a while - very restful.

Lovely work and a great capture. If mine, after the challenge, I would frame this near portrait-style by making the left border begin just to the right of (and eliminating) that bird presently upper left, bring the right border over about midway from where it is now and the right edge of the lower group of three birds looking the same direction, and finally clone out the top bird. That way your composition has three pipers all looking to the left with some leading room on the left side of the frame. That, to me, would make a stunning poster-sized picture. Don't take this wrong, it is a good-looking piece as is now. Just has some great editing potential. 8
