Great idea for a pic - I wanted to get everyone at NYC GTG together for a group shot with EACH of our cams on timers to submit for SP, but I just didn't get it done - this is a similar idea and I love both shots. Excellent stuff.

Now I have to go back and see what I voted on your previous picture so that i vote the same on this one. Clever idea.

I saw this one back to back with "holding her" and I was blown away by how cute it was, and what a co-incidence that they would appear together on my random display. I didn't get to comment on this one as I accidentally closed the browser, but I"ll take the time now to say the two shots together are adorable, and a great way to go beyond the challenge and show us something about you too.

Neat idea, a pair of portraits! Same comment applies here too: exactly what a self-portrait should do, tell something about yourself. Very nicely done.

And here's the other half of the Sidwell combo! You guys make it so blatantly obvious who you are; what's this, vote-pandering??? The problem is one has an original idea and the other is just a copycat and stealing the now famous flower bouquet prop, too. All joking aside, these two pictures would make a very nice diptych and i do like your combined efforts in these self portraits and the two of you do come across as a great team! Lovely colors. The reddish cast in your hair and the orange/red colors are a nice complementary to the greens in the background. 7
When i look at this portrait i see a warm and sympathetic woman. A good woman! And since a good woman is so tough to find i'll up her picture to a 9. Dsidwell better not be jealous of the score discrepancy; he ought to know that he is a doggone lucky guy. 9

Oh wow :) So there's two of these pics. I like the composition of your other half's photo a bit better than this - I think the flowers work better in the other shot.
I'd love to see the two of these photos joined together. Maybe you can do that for us after the challenge, so we can see what it would look like - as it would make a fantastic photo to be framed in your house. Well done and congrats on the unique idea you two had.

Lovely idea. Expression seems a little unnatural - a bit uncomfortable. Love the crop and the flowers for colour. I love that your image works in tandem with your husband's. Pass that comment on to him for me!

Aha! Now I get it! :) I think "his" photo worked better because of his expression, but I think this would make a GREAT pair of photos for you to print and frame! I like how your composition mirrors the other one, but to be honest, his stands alone better than yours (I think mostly because you look like you're having fun with the picture-taking aspect of it and seem to be focusing on that rather than "on him".)

oh, this is so-o-o-o sweet how the two of you did your self-portraits... each gets an 8!

How could I rate one different from the other? They both got the same from me. These two are both beautifully done, loving portraits of each of you! I loved the execution ... both pictures have excellent detail, focus, and DOF. (Yep, it's even the same comment!)

I'd better make sure I score you both the same to save arguments!

Hello,
I assume from your Titile you are not the 'Him' but the 'Her" in the photo. What are the flowers for? Although the Flowers and the 'Him' are nice, I don't feel that they add to a SelfPortrait photo.

nice.. =) but you should try to have a diffuse background (modify your speed and aperture)

Clever way to show a husband/wife team -- it would have been cool if your two shots had come up back to back for me!

I like the couple idea :) Very nice pair of photos. Would look great hanging side by side in your bedroom or something :)

Nice clean colors, and the border is helpful. I wish that I could make out your emotion - your face is smiling but your eyes are not. Candid or planned?

I'd give this a 10 were it not for the goofy looking guy! 9
