 Natural window light, tripod, leaf on a piece of red flannel material. Curves, levels, contrast, resize and sharpen. I know people won't like the tip being out of the focus zone, but I shot this for stock and thought I'd just enter it for the heck of it. :)

Nice shot, but the tip of leaf is out-of-focus and spoils the mood. Background should have been a little lighter and/or out-of-focus.

I think I would have preferred this with a contrasting background rather than a matching one.

The red on red is interesting. I would like to see the leaf less centered with more negative space to one side. The detail is good and I like that it's upturned and blurred in areas.

Nice leaf, but the background is really distracting. Plain black or white, even yellow (anything but more red!) would have worked. ;^) Good luck in the challenge.

the detail of the leaf is good. i'd have preferred this with a more contrasting background..

i love the pic, although would like to see a tad more contrast between leaf and bg. have you viewed the photo in b&w? just wondering what it would look like. :)
