I see where you did a lot of blurring, for me it just doesn't work with the strong backlighting. You should have opted for a darker backround with the softness of the blur. The top of the background just pulls the eyes to it and away from you.
Also you're white balance may have needed set differently or you could have balanced it out more with your editing it seems a bit too yellow.
The pose is very becoming to you and with just a little lighting adjusting I think this could be an outstanding photo

Ah Justine! Now I know what you really look like. Actually just as I imagined you :-) Hi there. |

Now I see who is behind all the nice comments, justine! :)
The lighting is ok, but I would have cropped out the white areas on the left side and on the top. The massive blur is nice. |

Very expressive and wonderfully lit! The dark background at the bottom worried me a little and I think it might have been better with a more uniform background, but this is still a shot to be proud of :) Congrats! |

I like the softness & composition. Good job. I would like to see a different background though. |

This port has a nice softness to it. It also is blinding at the top of the frame. Pretty nice pic despite that super hot spot. |

I like your pose, expression and pleasing features. Your face is well lit with a nice soft natural light despite the strong backlighting, but there appears to be a slight yellow color cast to the picture that is not flattering. Also, I don't like the sudden demarcation between the white and yellow background and find that the upper white part of the background is empty space that adds nothing to the photo. Focus is too soft as well. |

I'd have cropped the top down some, since that white space at the top doesn't seem to add anything. I like the softness of the image. |

The background is very bright, so, you should have tried to give more contrast by "darkening" your face. Do this by using Levels to darken the "midtones" and "shadows". |

Colors seem slightly washed out. |

I find this portrait difficult to rate and challenging to comment on.
What appeals to me most, really, is the subject. The unassuming approach and fairly straightforward (except for the very appropiate soft focus) rendering delivers features of remarkable beauty and conscious expression. If seasons had a face, I imagine, this one would suit them very well. It speaks, to me, of both joy and the trials of life.

I really like your composition, with the bit of space to the top and left. The delicate colors are really pleasant. |

Not a bad pose, but I think perhaps a little added contrast would have been in place. The background also needs some work (4) |

The soft effect and the choice to pose off center adds interest to your photo, and is well done. |
