Near Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix, Arizona there is an interesting rusted outdoor metal art piece in a building complex I like to photograph. The thing is about 4 stories tall.

I cropped the art piece to extent into the lower left and right corners.

My attempt was to have this image off-center in two ways: framing and color.

The subject is not centered nor does it fit the ROT.

That is why the sky color is aqua and it has a gawdy green border.

Voters failed to make the connection to the challenge topic when deciding how they felt about the border.

I liked it myself. :)

Wonderful abstract. Very well done and perfectly aligned and cropped

This looks more like computer-generated art than anything. It's an attractive pairing of colors, and interesting lines, but what is it?

I'm sure you already heard this, but what were you thinking with that border!

very intresting sculpture and strong graphic but that green frame takes away and distracts from the bold statement od the piece.

Well photographed work of art, I realy regret the green border, I have played with it a bit and my cconnclusion is that a simple white frame realy sets it off so much better.

Photos good but border looks out of place. A thin black border may have been better or one with a colour from the photo.

intriguing shot, without background nothing to give you perspective 6

the green border doesn't really add to this one...

Really strange border color. Doesn't help the shot.

Excellent graphic like quality however I think the border colour is distracting

i love the photo...oh, but that green border! another color is needed, in my opinion...it totally distracts from the photo.

It doesn't effect the score at all, but i feel the need to comment on your border. I think something a little more subtle would look better, but that is just my opinion. Interesting sculpture.

Interesting subject. I think it would have been better to title it differently. The sky is not off center but the object is. also, a basic border color - black or mayber a dark brown would set it off better than the green. Good job on the composition.

the border detracts significantly

Very nice abstract, the green frame doesnt compliment this shot or colors at all. No points off though, but it would definately look better with a neutral color frame.

Why the green border? It really doesn't go. Anyway, I won't let that deter me. You did a nice job with the picture.

the border is so green......... your photo is probably 50% better without this border. Sorry, MHO. Nice pics besides.

Love the lines ... such sharp transitions. It looks almost computer-generated.

Well, I'm afraid the border just about ruined a really interesting shot here. I really like the subject, even though I don't quite know what it is. The detail in the metal (?) is really nice, and I like the color of the sky. The green was just not the best choice of border, in my opinion :(

Wonderful picture. I love that grain effect on your subject. Great colours. This would have got a 10 without that hideous border! 9

wooah. wierd colors. don't like the border color, although it is interesting. Perhaps if the light blue was pure white it would be better. Was that the natural texture of the sculpture or did you use some sort of filter on it? It looks like a really fascinating piece of art and you did a nice job photographing it.

A 7 for the subject, colour and composition but sorry not the green border. It clashes for me - would black have been better?

This is a nice shot. I don't like the choice of border color though it seems to subtract from the picture.

I really don't like the choice of color on the border, but it won't affect my vote. Interesting abstract design.

the green border kind of takes away from an otherwise good photo
