Greetings from the Critique Club

An unusual view of a lock and weather-worn door. It's a relief to see your interpretation of the subject; usually such shots tend to be straight on and boring. This one has interest. It also has grain, the object of the Challenge.

Your attention to detail in the processing of this image also adds to the mystery and uniqueness.

You were quite well rewarded by the voters for your image and I too, can only say, "well done!"

I like the angle and the colors and lighting are good too. For me though, I do wonder if Neat Image was used. It seems to have a softer focus whereas in this challenge I'm scoring based on image grain. While yes, there is some grain in your shot, (again for me) the soft glow takes away from that.

A little gem of a photo with excellent colouration and nice swooping leading lines from the door.

You've given this image a nice effect through processing. I like the high contrast in the metal, and how the wood looks very washed out. DOF works well too.

I'm in love with this picture for it's simplicity. So many people try so hard to get a great shot. Grain is great in further distinguishing various textures...metals and woods being at the top of the list. Great angle, perfect lighting situation and wonderful proportions. Not sure if you used a diffuse light filte ron your camera, but it sure has that effect.
