nice shot. how did it look w/ the contrast down a little?

Took me awhile to figure out that it was a surfboard and not a girl. :) It doesn't really look like an ocean...maybe get lower to the ground to get some waves and the shadow in frame.

NIce use of the theme, I really like the idea behind this shot, I would have done it in color though. Score 7 ---------- Corey

this is a really cool idea. I think if you could have gotten a color cast or tint in it (maybe orange) it would have been more dramatic. I like the three different textures beneath the shadow.

Love the sharpness of the shadows.

I'm liking the three sets of graininess found in this picture, this is very great.

Nice, clear storytelling. Your score is going up with additional viewing. (I am personally biased against B&W). I have to ask, "was this shot that much worse in color?" I could be wrong, but the beach doesn't look like a surfing beach. (too calm, etc.) Pick, pick, pick.......Photo 8 Creativity 7 Shadows 7 total 7

Nice shot! Teach me how to surf? I must warn ya.. I'm a fat bald geek :) I like the strong diagonal composition of your shadow... good work! - jmsetzler

Nice photograph! Brings the viewer into the scene, wondering what the emotions of the people are.

sharp contrast. the white spots in the shadows are a bit distratcting but this shows you were not cheating by removing the spots :-)

this shot does tell a good story. nicely done.

Yes its a shadow alright. Use of the diagonal was good to give it a little more interest. Is this supposed to be on the beach? its hard to tell what else is going on here. Bright light on the left, white spots in your shadow.

good composition

I think I understand you use of grayscale here. I might have also tried a subtle blue tinting (duotone)...

This might have looked better in sepia.
