 Im new to DPC, and photography. After finding the site the other day I couldnt wait to enter a pic. Everyones critiques will be a big help.

Beautiful and simple. Nicely fits the challenge.

Your lighting works here.

I do question two things in your composition first the stem. Would the photo have stood on its own without it and second question is why did you use a textured background it is distracting. I would have rather seen a smooth background.

Overall you have a nice macro going here and hope to see more from you.

This is a really nice shot. I like your use of the step as a leading line into the photo, and the *really* white flower on top. I think it would have been even better if your background didn't have a texture like that. Something smooth (but not shiny) may have been better.

The stem is very distracting to me. I think this would have been better with the flower and stem removed, leaving just the one flower positioned as it is.
