Hey, you did fabulously well for a first entry - congratulations! We actually had one very frosty morning during this challenge, and I went out & took some shots, but got nothing I liked.
And, by the way, I live in Upsala, Ontario, Canada -(named after your city, I'm sure, as many Scandinavians settled here years ago). |

I think that if you crop out most of the left side, then you'd lose the very bright part of the sky, which is really distracting. Keep the right side of the flower and crop till the picture is symmetrical with the vertical axis through the flower stem. |

The flower is just a little dark for me. a reflector/piece of white card to bounce some light onto it might have been just enough. Its a tricky one because too much light might spoil the mood your looking for with this image.
Its a nice attempt anyway with nice atmos and bags of detail, nice work! |

Like the fact that the foreground flower is a bright color and the background is stark, really draws your eye to the flower. |
