Hello from the Critique Club!

So we meet again...first - if you have any problems with me giving you another critique so soon, please contact me after and I will talk to the members and see if we can get someone else to critique this again.

Composition/perspective - this is a very simple image compositionally - not busy, no clutter, well defined subjects. The placement of the eggs is very well done. They fill enough of the image without being overbearing or crowding the negative space. Having only the center egg completely in the shot really works very well for this. I think the top down view also works well especially with your choice of lighting.

Lighting - eggs have a lot of natural texture on the surface. Little bumps and such. You can see this only on the top edges of the top two eggs. A little bright in my opinion. Slightly less and that texture would be clearly evident while not hurting the strength of the image at all. The angle of the light is excellent and the control of the shadows is very well done. Based on the shadows it appears as only one light source was used?? Perhaps with a second you could lessent the intensity of the one that is taking away the texture. You might lose some of the shadow, but I don't think that would have hurt. Overall though, white on white is not easy to shoot and your overall control of the lighting is very well done.

Color - again, white on white is not easy. It is so easy to lose definition of shape. This is not the case here. The small shadows help keep the subjects isolated from the background and all edges are clearly evident and well defined.

Challenge requirements - no doubt you have met the challenge. And quite effefctively at that.

Overall/my opinion - this is a very well done image demonstrating many techiques all of which you seem to be on top of. The simplicity of the subject matter is very pleasing. It is not a very emotive piece, but it doesn't really have to be. The crop really works well. It may not have needed the border, but keeping it simple and thin keeps it from being a distration or a detractor.

Very clean and calm picture, fits really well into the challenge. I am not sure if the border is needed, but that is just my opinion.
