Title: Sun Buffs, by sanandan

Composition: Yours is a perfectly balanced and composed shot. I only wish everyone had thought about the fact that you could not repose your subjects and probably had a limited amount of frames to capture them in.

Technical: In some parts of the world the sky really is that blue, and if you used a polarizing filter you had it set just right. When I look at the feathers on their chest it looks as though you might have softened them with Neatimage or the noise filter in Photoshop, and then brought the picture back with unsharpmask. None the less it turned out very nice.

Challenge: It is composed just a small amount more centered that most voters would have liked, but the challenge doesn't say, "how much out of center it had to be" so it meets their requirements just fine.

Suggestions: I would have liked to see some information about the picture, your conditions, and possible problems that you might have encountered while making the picture. You have done a fine job with this picture and I thank you for sharing it with the DPC crowd.

You have contributed many wonderful pictures and through them I consider you a statesman, and look forward to seeing more of your beautiful country.

By the way I gave it a 9.

I am so surprised that this didn't win a ribbon. It was one of my favorites. Well, congrats on a good score and 17th place. It's an amazingly beautiful shot!

The sky is fake blue. I don't like it. The subjects are awesome. They are pin sharp, no doubt. Very well done with the exception of the sky color

Great subject , great composition, great blue sky - OOps let me get out my thesaurus - great... terrific, wonderful... No really I love these two - the spikes of their feathers and the points of their beaks. The expression on their faces - contemplating that big blue sky, while remaining for the time being grounded on that block of concrete.

The absolute best bird shot I've ever seen. Phenomenal. Gorgeous saturated colors, fits the challenge well, great simple overall composition and tack sharp. Congrats. 10

Nice! I have no idea what kinds of birds those are, but I'd say I wouldn't want to meet them in a dark alley :) Excellent sharpness/detail, and nice composition as well. Nice work! - 8

Those are sick looking birds! By sick I mean extraordinarily crazy and fascinating. Are they some sort of vulture? Where are they found? See, good pictures make you curious and you have to ask a lot of questions. This is georgeous. 10

Appealing shot, just wish the bottoms of the birds weren't so obscured.
