Ya know, I think the sky seems more blown out with the white border than it would with a dark one. With a dark one you could pump up the color sat and I think it would work. Anyway, I like the silky water and the crop. Nice composition. |

I agree that the white border makes the sky look blown out, without it I think the pink of the sky would have been great. The other thing that I dont think helped the shot is the fact that although the water needed to be blurred, the rocks are also soft.
Edit to add:
Perhaps a tad more contrast would have helped the sky and rocks?

I too like this image and gave it a six.
But that border is a bit difficult for the picture. I immediately went to the top edges and wondered "whoops, what happened here - should have cropped that..." as the white border appeared to almost blend into the very nice sky. Without that border, I think the image would have placed higher.
Still, it's a lovely photograph.

Beautiful pink sky and I love the slow shutter speed and water. It contrasts nicely with the dark craggy rock. |

You put this white border around it, didn't you? I don't think it serves any purpose, as DPC adds this black thin frame around it, and the whole thing looks odd, especially on the very top. Other than that, very nice long exposure. |

Love it, in spite of the few dirt spots. |
