Great idea for a pic - I wanted to get everyone at NYC GTG together for a group shot with EACH of our cams on timers to submit for SP, but I just didn't get it done - this is a similar idea and I love both shots. Excellent stuff.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwe! This is adorable (it all makes so much more sense to me once I've seen 'holding him". They make an interesting set of photos together. Great job.

That's exactly what a self-portrait should do, tell something about yourself.

Great shot , great colours, great emotion. I would have had part of her face visible though as the image of nothing but hair is the only distracting part of this photo.

Wait a minute - this is the other side!!! I still like the flowers, and I like the closed eyes. I love seeing real people in pictures!

Oh, okay.... Nice paired-submission idea. Great context, and it's always good to be hugged. You look so peaceful and happy.

Expression of bliss in expression captured better than in matching portrait but think composition is better in other.

Gee, looks like... Northern Utah from the angle of the sun, the type of flowers, the blissed-out expression on the face of the photograper... ;)

The emotion in this portrait really adds a lot! It tells a story like many of the other photos do not, with the flowers and the embrace. It doesn't look all "studio" or anything, but it's a very evocative photo. I like how the two heads and the flowers all tilt at the same angle. This is very nice!

How could I rate one different from the other? They both got the same from me. These two are both beautifully done, loving portraits of each of you! I loved the execution ... both pictures have excellent detail, focus, and DOF. (Yep, it's even the same comment!)

Oh Hey there,
Ahhh! I see. Now it makes more sense. I saw the "Holding Him" photo quite a while ago. (I'm slow) Too bad your two photos can't be linked during Voting. I wonder if both photos will recieve the same score. Don't take this personally, but I think the "Holding Him" photo will score higher, because I find her more attractive than you. =o)
That aside. I guess this comment is more of an add on to the other comment. Well if I was picky, I'd say that there aren't as many flowers pointed toward the Camera in this shot. The extra green camouflages them against the background. A shorter DoF might have helped with that a bit, or a different background. Althought I see that you want to keep the flowers in the frame and still have the same aspect ratio, I would have tried to center the two of you more, with your face off center.

I think a portrait should reveal some character, or emotion of the model, by showing expression in eyes or other facial features. Did your picture accomplish that? Definetly!

Lighting:good

Exposure:good

Focus:good

Creativity:good

Composition:good

Background:good

I like the emotive qualtiy of this.
