For anyone that thinks this didn't fit the challenge, I don't know about you, but I found it's not easy and you definitely need a fast shutter speed to catch a shot of a bird in flight, especially seagulls zipping along the beach and water at low levels :-) Oh, and the gulls don't like to cooperate or make it any easier either...haha.

My original title for this shot is 'Take Me to Tommorrow'.

This title is just a reference to a joke we used to pull on new guys in the Navy. When they were on lookout duty, we would hang out and chat with them, then frantically tell them to report a contact with an aircraft to the bridge. They said they didn't see anything, we would just say it's a gu eleven, a gu eleven, etc. etc. After they reported it, the guy on the bridge would say "GU eleven? that's a G-U-l-l you idiot! "

Anyway, I like the shot. Taken at 1/1000. In ps- cropped, arbitrary rotation, tri-tone, levels adj, curves adj, and a little usm.

Thanks for checking out my pic :-)

A potentially boring shot made much more interesting by your processing choices. Nice job!

I'd luv to see the original of this, it is too over processed for my taste, but I love the shot

I can feel the freedom the bird is experiencing. Loved how you exposed to make the sky black.

This is very emotive. I like the large spance of water. The grape filter is effective. The light bouncing off of the gull's wings is eye catching.
