perfect!

too many low scores given to this shot.

Greetings from the Critique Club!...

COMPOSITION... You've chosen a unique angle that brings added interest to the shot. By using a high perspective it really makes you feel like you carry a lot of weight, a sense of confidence and "solidness" of character I suppose...just trying to grasp the emotive quality of the shot that is imparted by use of this particular angle.. A very nice gradient background really makes you stand out.,,

TECHNIQUE... What can I say about this either? Every thing in the photo is in focus, the lighting is just excellent, from the highlights in the hair, to the subtle gradient in the background. Hardly any shadows to detract from the image...

OVERALL... Easily among the top of the challenge entries. Conservative voting may have been the only reason you didn't place top 10...

i like simplicity in sepia
06/24/2003 05:36:22 PM
Nice idea, but I find the distorted perspective somewhat disconcerting.

I don't know what the people say about this! :O) 9pt

Great perspective!

Very well composed, nice staging, good lighting. Border is a bot too thick for my liking, but who cares, it's an excellent shot. And I'm sure the chicks are digging the skin. ;?) 10 md

Excellently done - very little to fault here and I've placed this in my top 3
You've used the wide angle lens here to perfect effect. I'll be very surprised if this doesn't get some sort of ribbon and even if it doesn't it won't be far off. Well done

Interesting perspective and composition!

how high was your camera off the ground. i like the angle.

Great angle and perspective through reduction in size. Lighting OK though I'd prefer a little more on the side of the face.
I'm not commenting on the nice buns. Ok I am. Nice buns. (Sorry).

You have chosen the POV very well. The choice of duotone is also very good. And the title; just great! I think you have made the best picture this week (10).

Hi,
A full moon out tonight. Technically good. I liked the angle of this shot. Nice Highlights and shadows. They really give the photo depth. But personally this one doesn't do it for me. I'm not really into the whole naked photo thing.

You've really used perspective to an advantage here. I think the left side of the picture needs to be toned down some but, in general, the tonal range is very good.

Alrighty......this is done very well....really good work. Thanks.

The first thing I notice, other than the 'buns' is the complimentary color of the background and skin tone. I like the gradient color in the background too, I think it works better than a solid plain color. The skin tone is good and even with shadows highlighting the appropriate areas of the human form. The only negative is the slightly over-exposed area on the left shoulder. The perspective is interesting and I'm not sure if I like it or not. It's certainly different and that could be why the image works, but it also looks kinda weird to the eye. Overall I really like the shot and applaud you for being bold enough to take a pic like this! 9

As a photo is good but it is not a portrait IMHO

H'lo, Doctor -
I really like the perspective on this, and the "simplicity." Takes a lot to make me like a male nude shot - well done.

You took a risk and it paid off. The technical and artistic quality is top notch. Good choice of lighting to create the shadows on the skin.
