After your overreaction and hypersensitivity to controversial subjects concerning current events -- namely, the clear and growing influence of fundamentalism on our nation's politics, whether it be ideological or religious -- have lead me to conclude that DPC is not an intellectually tolerant community. Or, at the very least, that DPC is a community that is easily manipulated by a single vociferous user (RonB), which many DPCers (including ClubJuggle, as noted in one of his posts in the thread in question) recognized as being prone to exaggeration, manipulation and distortion of the truth. Either scenario leaves me extremely disappointed with the level of oversight, fairness and judgment that's exercised by the site council of DPC. Accordingly, given the extremely negative impression that I now have of DPC, please permanently delete my user's record: bdobe, including any images that I've not been able to delete myself. Finally, once my record has been permanently deleted, please forward an email to (email address removed) confirming that my request has been fulfilled.

Thank you

I wish I would have left lengthier comments below. This is certainly a strong image. Your sense of composition is very good. Just the way all of the elements fit together is so wonderful. I'll be looking for more of your good work in the future, that's for sure!

I agree with those below who indicated they thought this one one of the best imags in the contest. Fifteenth isn't bad but this image is better than that. Great going.

Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments. "Sleeping Dog" did far better than I expected, and it only encourages me to enter future events.

Congratulations to all that participated, especially the three top entries.

Personally, I think this is the best shot in this challenge by a fair margin. You have been severely robbed.

Wow. Thought this would do much better. Great photo. I would have put it in 3rd. Adding it to my favorites.

I really love the picture as a whole...just too bad the lighting in the foremost part of the scene is so harsh. I think a little more contrast would have been nice too. Anyway, great photo.

What an intense photo! All of the elements scream "old-fashioned," and that sleeping dog is the icing on the cake. Awesome collection of stuff!

I like this shot. I don't know if it screams, "Country Life," but it certainly has that "lazy" feeling that goes with country life. This actually has more of a magazine feel to me. I guess you can take that as a compliment if you want. Good attempt.

This is absolutely perfect in every way. The dog absolutely MAKES the shot, and the background is so supportive of a "rural" feel... The whole image really invokes the feel of rural Montana to me, near where I'm from... A 10+ in my book. Congrats.

One of my favs this week ! A touch more contrast to deepen the color would help. This is country ! I see this a lot in Alabama :) 9

It's a 10. Oh yes, it is a 10. Love it. Nothing I can say to improve this at all. At first I was going to suggest a tiny bit of darkening, but then I thought about it and realized that it would take away from the feeling of the dog resting in the hot glare of the sun and would also lose the detail inside the door which I like. Superb photo. I'm guessing it's ribbon material.

Very nice photo. I do feel that the clutter is a little overdone and works against you. I like the colors in the scene.

Love this shot... the dog makes it for me, kind of sets the mood for the hole shot. Well done!

Composition: perfect.
Subject: perfect.
Focus: pretty good.
Lighting: I really wish you could have gotten everything more in the sun - the bottom part looks overexposed, and the top part looks underexposed, all because of the shadow.
Overall: 7.

Yeah this is really country life. Relaxed, laid back and not much happening. Excellent depiction! Originally an 8 but now bumping to 10!

I like the 'feel' you have captured here. I don't think I would have used a border.... White is also a bit harsh here. The title takes you to the dog nicely.

Great shot, this really evokes the feeling of a lonely outback gas station. Love the compostion with the dog in the foreground. This is a really good shot, it should do really well. Good luck, Todd. 10.
