Thanks everyone for all the comments. THis photo has replaced my 2nd highest rated photo. This is the first time I used lighting to take a photo. I made it dark because of the subject. I also was not going to enter the challenge because I could not think of a good title, but then at the last minute Knot a Good Idea popped into my head.

Very good composition. The lighting adds nicely. I am on a laptop so the brightness is ok on it, but I feel that people on CRT monitors may feel the image to be lit too darkly.

Spot on Focus and great details shown in the rope. The brilliant shades of yellow and red in the rope twine and the frayed ends add character to a shot that could have easily been boring. Very Well Done --8-- ((bump)) --9--

no kidding i adore the light in this
and the pun in the title gives it this lovely light contrast
its needed
i hope it winns cause its a nice example how its possible to handle this subject without being bombastic or vulgair or whatever cheap twists

Nice play on words! I'd prefer a tad more light, and a shorter free end on that rope, but I like that you got the point across without being morbid. ;-)

Great title. Love the lighting and simple subject matter. Clever. Seems a touch out of focus, maybe due to the dim lighting.
