if you would have added some sort of lighting i think it would have turned out more interesting.

OK, it's garbage, but I do not find it somehow interesting nor technically perfect. Just a pack of garbage...IN THE CAN... Do you mean beer that was in these cans was also garbage?

like the leaves as a warm contrast to the cool blue tones.

The leaves add a nice contrast to the otherwise cool colors of your picture. Very nice focus and lighting.

To me, the lighting looks a little harsh, which mars the effect that could be obtained here.
