Stunning, to bad there wasn't more back light.

a little hazy, but still a great shot

one of my favorites in this challenge - love the moodiness, coloring and composition - interesting tree to highlight a landscape image with - good job :)

This is a very fine landscape image. It has a mystical quality about it that is helped by the presumably deliberately low contrast processing. I also applaud the title; it dares the viewer to think figuratively about the nature of the subject. That's always a good thing. 9

The composition is good, but the lighting is a touch too dark

Love it. I'd like to see a little more contrast between the sky and tree but I love the solace of the tree in the midst of the storm.

The silhouette of the tree looks very dramatic, I like it!

On my monitor, this looks like it could use just a bit of brightening and sharpening. Otherwise, nice composition.

I like the use of the dark looming sky in this - makes the picture.

Good idea - I think you could have used a little bit of light to brighten up the shadows here. I think it would still have the effect you want, but here a lot of details are lost. Might want to play around with 'Levels' a bit.

Dang what an emotive picture, I don't see how this could be improved. The grass is perfect, the lighting, the tree, the clouds even. Perfect!

You have made a dead tree look beautiful. Excellent photo.

I really like this photo basically because I love trees! I only wished the bottom portion was a little lighter showing more detail. None the less, great job. (8)

I'd prefer the tree to be a little more exposed.

A little more light and this would have been a top score shot definitely.

I like this very much. I wonder if there is a way to enrich the tonality of it without it being too dark. Hmmm - just a thought. I love the gray cloudy sky. Almost has a forboding sense to it. The single bare tree is great. 8
