I understand that my photo isn't great.. but just because it doesn't fall within a narrow definition of a landscape, does not mean that it didn't meet the challenge. The challenge was to provide the viewer with a refreshing landscape shot; to me this meant to think outside the landscape box..and not just take a picture of a stream in the woods, etc.

Too much orange, plus the composition of the image is not striking too me. Perhaps just a image of the town and what appears to be a river below would have been better. IMO

Very interesting subject! I like the broken tree. The lighting seems a little bit harsh on the tree, giving it a kind of yellow color and washing out some of the detail. I also like the busy background behind the tree...brings another layer to the photo.

poor tree, nice idea having the tree be the focal point and landscape as backdrop - tree is a bit bright for my taste, meets the challenge though - good job :)

The title of your photo says it all.

I like the colour but the branch appears to out of focus to me to be the main subject.

to overexposed to me

Interesting tree. The highlights seem a bit overblown to me and maybe overly sharpened, but I like the offset composition.

Would have been much better shot if you had not lost your highlights.
