 RAW - Adjusted Brightness & Color Temperature using Digital Photo Professional

In Photoshop - Levels, Selective Color to bring out the foliage colors, Rotated Canvas to level the image, Cropped - changed from 16bit to 8 bit, changed from Adobe RGB to sRGB, resized. Played with selective color some more to brighten colors more.

Love the colors of the golden fields and the autumn colors adorning the trees. But there is something that lies nearly in the center of this image that makes it stand out as being a little unusual and unique. The green of the cactus as it lies low in the golden hued field. The cactus adds interest as that it is something one rarely sees or gets the impression of when visuallizing an autumn scene.

I think it would be better with a bit sharper focus, but otherwise a very pleasant shot.

And where pre tell in the Texas Hill Country did you manage to find this beauty?????? I live at the foot of the Texas Hill Country myself and have yet to see such autumn beauty :) This is just amazing! I reallywould love to know where it is --Because I need to head out there and shoot. There's a Free Study going on :) Beautiful job making Texas look great!!!!!!!!!!! I'm giving this a 10 first because it's wonderful, and 2nd because I KNOW how rare it is to find this kind of autumn in Texas! :)

I knew that was Texas before I even read the title. Love the hint of cactus in the foreground. Very pretty.
