Ok, now I have camera envy!
I don't think you needed to use a 30 second shutter speed and if you really REALLY wanted to use that long of a shutter speed, I would have backed the ISO down to 100 or 200. Also, switching to manual focus and setting your focus prior to clicking the shutter would have made this more sharp.
I took my all time best shot at night using those settings, if you care to take a look.
But hey, I didn't finish much higher than you in this challenge so I hope my "advice" is taken in the spirit of which it is intended! :-p |

The land is hard to see because the photo is so dark. |

The flare from the white lightsw overpowers the beautiful gold tones. |

There really isn't much sky in this photo.....more like the night reflections of those buildings. I like the three stars. IMHO, if you would have cropped the entire right 1/3rd out or left 1/3rd, making the 3 stars your focal point and not centered, this would have been more effective. Where is this, BTW? |

I think that there is too much black space in the bottom of this picture. Also seems a bit over-exposed. |

This shot would be nicer if it was a bit sharper in my opinion also I would have cropped a bit of the bottom of the shot off and maybe straightened the horizon a few degrees. |

Nice shot! I think it would be better if you straightened out the line of buildings and perhaps cropped out more of the foreground. |
