All three frames come from the same pic but I did a little selective moving to create the composition. Boosted hue and sat, little bit of curves and some noise removal. Pretty basic. I created a few triptychs for this challenge but like this one, my first, the best.
Title from the Amy Lowell poem "the tree of scarlet berries:"
The rain gullies the garden paths
And tinkles on the broad sides of grass blades.
A tree, at the end of my arm, is hazy with mist.
Even so, I can see that it has red berries,
A scarlet fruit,
Filmed over with moisture.
It seems as though the rain,
Dripping from it,
Should be tinged with colour.
I desire the berries,
But, in the mist, I only scratch my hand on the thorns.
Probably, too, they are bitter. |

This mountian ash triptych is a beauty. I enjoy the poem you have included. |

Wonderful image, I like the range of colors and the use of shallow DOF enhances the subject. Well done. |

oversaturated, I fear. The side panels could not stand on their own which weakens things overall. 6 |

Admittedly I don't know much about the concept, and I really like the warmth and colors, but since the three areas are distinctly separated, shouldn't there be something in focus in each frame? I would like to see the berries sharply in each frame with the rest out. |

interesting. the lack of focus at the outer ones, forces the attention to the middle. nice colours. I, however, would prefer sharper focus in all three. |

I think this would have been more effective if all the pictures were in focus. IMO |

7 - Very nice. Criticism; not much, unsure on the inner white frame, but it does work. Like the effect with the two 'side panels' being blurred/softened/out of focus. Good coloring. Difficult at this size, but perhaps more definition, especially on the berries, in the center shot, may have made this better in my opinion. Good overall balance. |

I love the warmth. I think that middle photo could stand alone. |

Nice triptych. I'm a sucker for Autumn colours and the out of focus panels really do add interest to this. Nicely done. |
