 To get image, I placed a fern in a wheelbarrow of water and let it freeze. Then I took the ice out, propped it in the barn, let it melt for about an hour,used a black fabric behind it directed a really bright spotlight from the front and above right to get as many highlights in the ice as I could. Adjusted brightness, contrast, sharpened, changed color balance to teal, and resized.

Another wonderful idea June. It's unfortunate it's a out of focus. But I love how the ice has created a tapestry of design to go with the fern beautifully. I do agree that the leaf at the top is a bit of an unnecessary distraction. All the same, this goes into my favourites for the potentially unique loveliness it conveys.

Love the contrast here. My only wish is that the focus could have been sharper... also the small leaf at the top seems to detract rather than add. hope this is helpful

Very nice. Would like it more if the leaf in the top wasn't there but overall beautiful capture.

While I suspect that this has a single light source, the "effects" of that lighting are not apparent enough for me to consider it "dramatic." The lighting in this photo is uninteresting to me.

I like this picture a lot.
It's generally way too hot here in South Africa to do photos like these.

This is beautiful. I like the title too. the rocky design with the fern is a wonderful tapestry of textures. Lovely. 8
