A bit of noise, although I like the double meaning title. |

I really would have liked this better if the light source was a candle. I find a child with a lighter disturbing. |

I rated this quite low due to the subject matter that I find unappealing. Children playing with lighters is not a good thing to portray, even just for a contest shot. The light is artificial, which did give you a bit of a step up by one point. |

I like the idea, but I think I would have liked it better with a candle. |

Although there is some noise in this image, I love the idea and composition. |

I can see you put some time and effort into this. It's really hard for people to hold still enough to shoot in very low light - you might try a fast shutter speed and then bring up the midtones during post-processing. Unfortunately, this shot is not in as sharp of a focus as some of the others in the challenge. It also looks like there is some digital noise on the sweatshirt. Overall, this is a decent idea that suffers from too many technical deficiencies to score very highly. |

A candle would be a nicer match to the title, unless you want to make a much darker statement. |

it's a nice idea, a little disturbing seeing a kid with a lighter. Maybe a candle? :) Or was the disturbing aspect deliberate? |
