 absolutely could NOT come up with something I liked for this challenge. I like the tones on this shot, but the subject isn't interesting. I'd give it a 5 or a 6 depending on my mood. So I'll predict a 5.5

... but hopefullt I'm way wrong :)

8 - Like this, especially for this Challenge, a good capture and concept. Criticism; difficult as this will always be 'a sewing shot', but perhaps slightly sharper on the foot/needle etc, and fabric possibly too. The toning I like but wonder if a variation may have boosted this, not sure. Maybe a slightly different crop, especially with this toning, mainly at the top may have also made this better in my opinion, but not sure as I do like the 'easing out' of the focus around the edges.

This is the only photo in which I felt deserved a 10 score. I like it because of the artificial light source chosen, and the fact that you are "working" with that light. By doing so, you are taking the viewer not only to the source of the artificial light, but to a sense of completion for that light source - using it as intended. The shot is also very well in focus, and I find it very appealing in b/w. Nicely done.

Just a little bit over lit on the far left. I would have cropped in a bit more on the left and bottom. But I love the subject.

I really like this one... the focus area is perfect and well lit. I also like that it is a black and white photo... I think color would distract from the textures. A good example of an image that fits the challenge, to dramatically light a subject with artificial light! Excellent job!
