I don't think there's anything wrong with the composition. In fact, I like it. I like it a lot. I appreciate that there isn't an obvious point of focus -- it makes me look at the picture longer and explore it in greater depth. The lighting is very atmospheric, the clouds are beautiful, and it reminds me of Gregory Crewdson in its suburban eerieness. |

The problem with this photo in my opinion is that it's just not interesting. I mean what is the main subject here? Is it the tree? The street? The houses in the background? Sure you could have an interesting shot with the same elements, but the composition here is simply boring. The other thing I don't like is that light that is dead center in the photo, it's distracting and does not match the overall dim atmosphere throught the photo. |

My suggestion would be to choose a single subject for the photo. In this photo too many elements are competing for time, esp the light in the middle.
I really really like the lighting effect on the tree ... or are those clouds? Either way, I like it (more so if it's light reflecting from leaves in the tree).
It would help to know technical info (exposure, fstop, etc) to go more in depth.
Edit to say missed that it was a 4 second exposure
